Just When you Thought we Were Finished...

Well, we are finished with weddings for 2017, but that doesn't mean we aren't doing anything around here at Black Barn. As some of you may know, we have four months until weddings start back up again and in that time, we want to accomplish a lot to get this place in shape for next year. Part of that includes transforming the underneath garage area of the building (that you see below with the white garage door) into a prep kitchen for caterers and for future winery food!

Since last week was our last wedding of 2017, we have wasted no time getting started on this project! Last week we blew out the cement wall that stood between the garage and the interior staircase that leads from the event space down into our future wine-making space. Because this area is pretty rough (we're talking dirt floors and spider webs here, people) the guys also worked on digging out the dirt floors to create space for a brand new staircase and a cement pad in there, which will clean up this area of our building a ton. Check out some of our progress below!

We also added on an interior shelf to one of the sections of the north-facing walls in the event venue and decorated it for the fall season. It looked pretty bare before and we wanted to add it to the space for our couples to use to further personalize the space. Here are some shots of what it looks like now!
